Private snow tour in the Andes from Santiago

High-mountain snow, with a vehicle and guide just for you

This is the private version of the snow tour from Santiago: a vehicle and guide just for your group, with pickup at your hotel or address. What the area is like and what you can do without skiing is covered on the group snow tour; here we explain what changes when you choose to go private.

A snow day on your terms

  • Exclusive vehicle and guide: nobody else joins the trip, and the guide, who knows the area well, looks after your group only.
  • Door-to-door pickup: we leave from your hotel or address, at 07:00 on the base plan and with no route to collect other passengers. Outside the usual Santiago pickup zones, pickup carries an extra charge.
  • Time agreed with you: once you have booked, the coordinator gets in touch to change the pickup time. With mountain traffic in mind, an early start is best.
  • Your own pace: the stops and the time at each place are built around your group. The guide agrees with you whether a stop at the rental shop is needed and how you would like to spend the day: skiing, snowboarding or simply playing in the snow.

Stops on the base plan

  • A clothing and equipment rental shop, only if you need it.
  • The village of Farellones, El Colorado and La Parva.
  • Plaza de los Pumas, for the views and snow play.
  • Viewpoints along the road, to pull over for photos.

The return to Santiago leaves around 15:00 and arrival at your hotel is expected at 17:00.

Season, gear and tickets

It runs every day from June to September. If you do not have snow clothing, you can rent it at the shop on the way: reference prices, including ski or snowboard gear and a helmet, are on this page. Entry to the ski resorts is optional, your choice, and is not included. Neither are lunch and drinks, which you can bring or buy on site as sandwiches and empanadas.

How the price works

The price is per person and drops as the group grows: travelling alone is the highest rate and the lowest one applies from five people up. Check the price table on this page for the amount that fits your group.

Frequently asked questions

Can the departure time of the private snow tour be changed?

Yes. The base plan leaves at 07:00, but after booking you can talk to the coordinator to change the pickup time. Because of traffic conditions, we recommend leaving early to make the most of the day.

Do I need to know how to ski?

No. The day can be just about the high-mountain scenery and playing in the snow. If you want to ski or snowboard, the guide arranges it with you; entry to the ski resorts is optional and not included.

What is included and what is not?

It includes private transport exclusive to your group and an expert guide who knows the area. Lunch and drinks (bring your own or buy sandwiches and empanadas on site) and entry to the ski resorts are not included.

Which months does the private snow tour run?

Every day from June to September, during the snow season.

How is it different from the group snow tour?

On the private tour you travel with an exclusive vehicle and guide, we pick you up at your hotel or address, and the schedule, stops and time at each place are built around your group. The group tour is a shared departure, with pickup at hotels in Santiago Centro, Providencia and Las Condes, and it stops in free-access snow areas.
